Kelly is a gradate of ShurShod Horseshoeing School, and has operated successful Farrier services in both Wisconsin and Missouri. Kelly became involved in the day to day teaching at the school and is now an Owner & Full Time Instructor.
Besides teaching horseshoeing Kelly is very active in the  Equine industry, while  a Board Member  of the BWFA Kelly was able to introduce Infrared thermal imaging too  both owners and farriers,  and has been active in many of the  research projects  at  the FNRC .
Kelly is the founder of both the Missouri Farriers Association and the Mid America Equine Research Center both of which he is very active in.
Kelly has broadened his teaching spectrum by giving seminars and clinics geared to educating the horse owner on proper hoof care and why the Farrier is one of the most important people in the overall health maintenance of the horse.

Max has been shoeing various breeds and performance type horses for more than forty years. He has held teaching certificates in three states and taught high school, community college, and twenty years of horseshoeing classes, as well as heading the horseshoeing department at the University level.

Max has shod horses on two continents and demonstrated forge and shoeing techniques while touring Australia. He enjoys teaching horseshoeing and imparting his knowledge and skills to others. His goal is to help students become a successful professional Farrier.
